RCA's Corporate Social Initiatives
Corporate Social Responsibility or CSR has been defined by Lord Holme and Richard Watts in The World Business Council for Sustainable Development’s publication ‘Making Good Business Sense’ as “…the continuing commitment by business to behave ethically and contribute to economic development while improving the quality of life of the workforce and their families as well as the local community and society at large".
INTEGRITY | VALUE | PARTNERSHIPS | SOLUTIONS
At the core of this is the fundamental belief that success in business comes from lending a hand to those not always in a position to help themselves. RCA's Corporate Social Responsibility or CSR goes beyond handouts but rather making goods and services available to ensure that everyone benefits from it. Our partnerships with NGO's like Round Table and the Carte Blanche "Making a Difference" Campaign ensures that every donation of funds and equipment can be audited. It is our belief that empowerment of the individual to better their lives has far reaching effects in changing the mind-set of our youth and the communities they live in.
Some of the projects we were involved in in 2014:
Monthly donations to the following charities:
The Avril Elizabeth Home
Oasis Haven
Free Me
Jacob's Ladder
Oliver's House
We also assist The Hamlet Foundation with its yearly fundraisers.
RCA joined forces with Siyahamba - Foundation for Academic Excellence to sponsor text books to the following communities:
Lion Park
Honeydew
Kya Sand
Itsoseng
Diepsloot
Zandspruit
Regarding medical equipment, we sponsor these on an ongoing basis to needy institutions. In March 2013 we donated 2 x HR405CBS Basic Electric Beds with mattresses to Plett Cansacare in the Western Cape.
Lastly, we support a young man at school with his school fees and text books each year.
